Junior IT Consultant - Part-Time
VMR Technologies is seeking an Independent IT Consultant to provide part-time technical consulting services on a project basis. The consultant will deliver defined work packages related to business analysis, systems support, and technology advisory — operating independently and managing their own schedule. Please Note: This is a part-time contract position. We are looking for candidates who are able to commit to 10-20 hours per week at a $30/hour contract rate. This role is available within Canada only and is BYOD 💻 - Bring Your Own Device (laptop).
Responsibilities
- •Deliver documented business and technical requirements for assigned project scopes
- •Provide advisory and troubleshooting services for defined IT systems as contracted
- •Produce analytical reports and data summaries per project deliverables
- •Recommend and document process improvements based on engagement scope
Qualifications
- •Background in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- •Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capability
- •Working knowledge of databases, networking, and software systems
- •Ability to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
- •Self-directed with the ability to manage deliverables independently
Software Developer Associate (Web Development & Design)
VMR Technologies is looking for a Software Developer Associate to join our web development and design practice. You'll work alongside senior engineers and designers to build fast, accessible, modern websites and web applications for our clients — from marketing sites and e-commerce storefronts to AI-powered product experiences. This is an early-career role built for growth. You'll start by shipping well-scoped features with mentorship and code review, and take on broader ownership as you build confidence across our stack.
Responsibilities
- •Build responsive, accessible web interfaces from design files using React, Next.js, and TypeScript
- •Translate UI/UX designs into clean, reusable components that follow our design system and theming conventions
- •Integrate front-end work with APIs, CMS content, and third-party services
- •Participate in code reviews, and apply feedback to improve quality and consistency
- •Optimize pages for performance, Core Web Vitals, and SEO best practices
- •Assist with QA, cross-browser testing, and post-launch fixes for client sites
Qualifications
- •Degree, diploma, or bootcamp training in Computer Science, Web Development, Design, or equivalent hands-on experience
- •Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript; familiarity with React or Next.js is a strong asset
- •A portfolio, personal projects, or coursework demonstrating web development and design ability
- •Comfort with Git-based workflows and collaborative development
- •An eye for visual detail, typography, spacing, and responsive layout
- •Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and grow into a well-rounded product engineer
